Maintenance Data & System Advisory
We assess maintenance data quality and traceability, define KPIs and reporting requirements, and organize evidence for airworthiness and compliance reviews.
We help aviation maintenance teams understand the quality and origin of the information they use. We review selected records, trace data across applications, and clarify how that information supports operational reports and decisions. We document findings, define KPI calculations and reporting requirements, and help organize evidence for airworthiness and compliance reviews. Within the agreed scope and available access, we provide a documented baseline and recommended actions to help your team establish priorities and clarify responsibilities.
Maintenance Data Quality Review
We assess the completeness, consistency and duplication of selected aviation maintenance records. We establish a documented data quality baseline and help your team prioritize the issues that need attention.
Challenges we address
Missing values, duplicate records and inconsistent codes can make maintenance information difficult to interpret and reuse. Teams need to understand which issues affect the selected records, what evidence supports each finding and where corrective work should begin.
How we help
- We define the records, fields, review period and data quality rules with the customer's process and data owners.
- We review completeness, consistency, duplication and selected relationships between records using authorized extracts or approved read-only access.
- We discuss exceptions with the responsible users to distinguish data defects from documented operational cases.
- We assess the operational relevance of findings and propose priorities for validation and correction.
What we deliver
- We deliver a data quality baseline identifying the reviewed population, applied rules and known coverage limitations.
- We provide an issue register with affected fields, supporting examples, operational implications and proposed owners for customer confirmation.
- We prepare a prioritized action plan covering validation, correction and opportunities to strengthen data entry controls.
What we need to get started
- Authorized data extracts or approved read-only access covering the agreed records and period.
- Available field definitions, code lists, validation rules and relevant operating procedures.
- Process and data owners who can explain exceptions, validate findings and agree priorities.
Scope and responsibilities
We review the agreed datasets using the available evidence. Our findings do not establish the quality of unreviewed records or confirm the physical condition of an aircraft or component. The customer validates findings and authorizes corrective actions. We undertake data correction, bulk updates or production changes only under a separately agreed written scope and authorization.
Maintenance Data Traceability
We trace selected maintenance data from its source to the records, applications and reports that use it. We document transformations, ownership and evidence gaps across the agreed information flow.
Challenges we address
A value in a maintenance record or report may pass through several applications, files and manual steps. When its origin or transformation is unclear, teams can struggle to explain discrepancies, reproduce results or identify who should investigate them.
How we help
- We select the maintenance records, data elements and downstream uses to be traced with the customer's team.
- We follow available source records, identifiers, transfers and transformations across the agreed applications and files.
- We identify data ownership, manual handoffs and points where supporting evidence or links between records are missing.
- We validate the documented flow with business and technical owners and recommend actions to address traceability gaps.
What we deliver
- We deliver a data lineage map showing the reviewed sources, destinations, transfers and transformations.
- We provide a traceability matrix linking selected fields or records to their sources, business use and responsible owners.
- We prepare a gap register with supporting examples, known limitations and recommended follow-up actions.
What we need to get started
- Authorized samples of source records and the corresponding downstream extracts, reports or transactions.
- Available data dictionaries, interface descriptions, field mappings and transformation rules.
- Business and technical owners who can explain data transfers, manual steps and application responsibilities.
Scope and responsibilities
We document and assess the agreed information flow using the records, documentation and access available to us. Missing historical logs or inaccessible systems may prevent us from verifying parts of that flow. Building interfaces, changing application logic or reconstructing unavailable history requires a separate scope.
Maintenance KPI & Reporting Design
We define maintenance KPIs and reporting requirements around the decisions your team needs to make. We document calculation rules, data sources and validation criteria to support consistent interpretation of the results.
Challenges we address
Reports can show different results when teams use different definitions, date ranges or inclusion rules. A maintenance KPI needs an agreed business purpose and a clear calculation before its value can support an operational decision.
How we help
- We clarify reporting audiences, operational questions and the decisions each proposed KPI is intended to support.
- We define calculation logic, units, filters, reporting periods, source fields and business ownership.
- We review available data and selected examples to identify gaps or limitations affecting interpretation.
- We specify report layouts, drill-down requirements and acceptance criteria for customer review.
What we deliver
- We deliver a KPI definition catalog with business purpose, calculation rules, sources, frequency and ownership.
- We prepare a report design specification with proposed layouts, filters and supporting detail.
- We provide validation examples and a register of data dependencies, open questions and interpretation limitations.
What we need to get started
- Existing reports, spreadsheets and current KPI definitions, where available.
- Authorized sample data and documentation of the source fields and relevant business rules.
- Reporting users and process owners who can agree definitions, validate examples and approve requirements.
Scope and responsibilities
We define KPIs and report requirements using the agreed evidence. We include dashboard development, automated data pipelines. The customer approves the definitions and remains responsible for operational decisions based on the reports.
Airworthiness & Compliance Evidence Readiness
We organize maintenance records and supporting evidence for the airworthiness or compliance review defined by your organization. We identify missing links, retrieval difficulties and follow-up actions before the planned review.
Challenges we address
Relevant evidence may be spread across maintenance applications, shared folders and individual records. Even when documents exist, unclear ownership or missing links can make it difficult to assemble a reviewable package and explain what remains outstanding.
How we help
- We confirm the review purpose, evidence criteria and record population with the customer's designated maintenance or compliance owner.
- We map requested evidence to available records, document references, system locations and responsible owners.
- We review the agreed sample for availability, identification, consistency and retrieval gaps.
- We organize outstanding items and recommended actions for customer validation before the planned review.
What we deliver
- We deliver an evidence readiness matrix showing each agreed criterion, available references, status and outstanding items.
- We provide an evidence index with record locations, links or identifiers and assigned ownership.
- We prepare a prioritized action plan documenting gaps, dependencies and known review limitations.
What we need to get started
- The review checklist, evidence request or criteria supplied or approved by the customer's responsible function.
- Authorized access to the selected maintenance records, supporting documents and applicable internal procedures.
- A designated maintenance or compliance representative to interpret requirements and validate evidence relevance.
Scope and responsibilities
We support evidence organization and readiness review within the agreed criteria and available records. We do not issue airworthiness certifications, approve maintenance or determine regulatory compliance. The customer retains its authorized maintenance and compliance responsibilities, including approvals and the completeness of its records.
